Yes, in the state of Ohio you can take your vehicle to the shop of your choice. The insurance companies cannot dictate where you take your vehicle for repairs.
If the insurance company tries to dictate or use scare tactics ( like telling you there could be extra charges if you don’t go to their preferred shop, which is not true ) to tell you where to take your car it is called STEERING and is illegal in the state of Ohio.
